Rhino poaching has soared in southern Africa, driven by a demand for their horns from Asia, where they are erroneously believed to cure cancer and impotence.

On November 10, 2011 I lost my best friend. Bailey was the sweetest, most loving dog, and was the greatest support for me through the tough years of my life. At only 8 years old, I was sure that Bailey and I would have several more years together. During September 2010, I brought Bailey to our local Veterinarian, Dr. Jaipal Rana for an ulcerated growth on her back limb. I was told that it was nothing, and was sent on my way. One month later, with this growth still bleeding and my first aid being of no help, I brought her back to Dr. Rana. He said it was a “possible hemangioma”, or a benign growth on a blood vessel, and it can be removed, no problem.

In this paper, they describe a mechanism whereby stressed rocks in the Earth’s crust release charged particles that react with the groundwater.Researchers began to investigate these chemical effects after seeing a colony of toads abandon its pond in L’Aquila, Italy, in 2009 – days before a quake.

Puppy mill operators who sell online often exploit a loophole in the Animal Welfare Act regulations to operate without any federal oversight or inspections. They churn out hundreds of thousands of puppies for the pet trade each year, often in shockingly poor conditions, without any inspection or even basic humane standards. Many of these dogs are sold over the Internet to unsuspecting consumers who think they are dealing with small family breeders. The USDA must take action to close this loophole in the Animal Welfare Act regulations.

Since that time, the city has never been able to provide factual (untampered with) documentation as to the ban’s effectiveness, they can provide no expert testimony that endorses this legislation, and every major animal welfare organization globally has denounced Denver’s law as a means of providing public safety to its citizens.

According to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, nearly 23,000 nonhuman primates were imported into the U.S. in 2010—nearly all of them destined for laboratories. Nearly 3,000 monkeys were imported by animal testing conglomerate Shin Nippon Biomedical Laboratories (SNBL), where recent photos and video footage leaked by a whistleblower show sick, distraught monkeys suffering horribly from tests in which they were injected with experimental chemicals.

Speculating is watching and attending a dog fight. Currently 25 states have speculating a dog fight only as a misdemeanor. A misdemeanor means maybe a slap on the wrist and a fine and if they do get arrested it is usually only punishable up to a year in jail. Basically spectators are the ones who fund the dog fighting business with paying admission fees and gambling they are what makes the fight take place. These spectators also make it worth the possibility of jail time to those who hold the fights because more often than not the money is in the hundred thousands per year. If we DEMAND heavier laws on those who participate in a felony maybe there will be less dog fighting taking place.

St Andrews Aquarium in Fife said it was “inundated” with phone calls from members of the public telling them a small, grey seal pup, thought to be only weeks old, had washed up on West Sands beach in St Andrews.”Because of the general physical state of the young animal, who was very underweight, shivering and clearly very ill, they asked if we could capture him and administer immediate first-aid treatment pending their arrival, which we duly did.
